1983 to Present Day

2020:

Xtensa CXP Repeater range – the Challenger model, the worlds first qualified CXP-12 coaxial repeater, launched to market which was soon followed by the Neuron model which is the worlds smallest CXP-12 coaxial repeater

 


2019:

Rapid ConneXions – the first machine placement (Pick and Place) coaxial connector range launched to market

 


2018:

IPC620 Certified IPC Trainer status granted by The Wiring Harness Manufacturers’ Association
ISO 14001: Environmental Management System, certification granted
Connector patent granted


2017:

Optical measuring equipment installed
ISO 9001:2015 Approval
Started offering true 12G-SDI coaxial cable assemblies
CEI begins development of a CoaXPress repeater


2016:

Additional semi-automatic test equipment installed to support increased business levels


2015:

Full Range of BNC and MicroBNC connectors supporting 12G-SDI available from stock
Additional automated crimp machine installed


2014:

CEI achieves 12G-SDI performance for a right angled BNC connector


2013:

CEI Ltd start development on 12G-SDI range of RF connectors


2012:

Launch of MicroBNC connector range


2011:

Launch of BNC and DIN 1.0/2.3 product meeting 6G-SDI
CEI offers full end to end Box Build manufacturing
First automated Bench Crimp Press installed


2009:

Launch of DIN 1.0/2.3 RF connector range supporting 3G-SDI
CEI offer full connector range support to the CoaXPress industry
Introduction of a range of fully compliant 3G-SDI cable assemblies


2006:

Launch of BNC RF connector range supporting 3G-SDI


2005:

CEI Ltd start development of a new range of high performance RF connectors to support the technological revolution in the Broadcast market (1.5G-SDI)
Semi-automatic, industry standard, test equipment installed to further enhance quality standards


2003:

Further investment in people and equipment prepare us to accept more complex projects


1998:

Cambridge Connectors and System Connections (Cambridge) are brought together as Cambridge Electronic Industries Ltd supplying connectors and assemblies worldwide


1994:

ISO 9001:2000 Approval


1988:

System Connection (Cambridge) Ltd established, offering cable assembly services in the UK


1985:

Cambridge Connectors becomes an OEM with the launch of Networking Products Division


1983:

Mike Wilson establishes Cambridge Connectors Ltd; supplying backplane connectors into the UK
